Welcome to the blog for Professor Jamy Gearhart's 9:30 am English 101 class at North Carolina A&T. I have lots of energetic and creative thinkers in this class, so I am looking forward to seeing what they do with this blog.
Instead of keeping a journal this year, my students and I will embark on a blogging journey where we will polish our writing skills, improve our technique, and explore how we can use writing to benefit ourselves while in school and into the future.
Writing Prompt:
Introduce yourself and tell me about something that makes you laugh every time you think about it, see it, or hear it. You can create a new blog entry to respond or reply directly to this blog post.
For me, there are a lot of things that make me laugh every single time: movies, commercials, pictures, even that stupid guy, Markiplier, who my son and his friends are into, he can make me laugh. There are, however, some things I like to take out when I'm having a bad day because I know that no matter how rotten my day is going, they will pull a laugh out of me. This dreadful Walmart commercial is one particular favorite. I laugh until the tears squeeze out of my eyes every time I watch it.
My name is Mayme Cherry and i laugh at about everything and any situation. But there is only one thing that makes me laugh every time; which is when some gets hurt, but i do promise to always ask and see if the person is alright afterwards. So this commercial was more than hilarious to me. I even replayed it a couple of times.

I can agree with Mayme, that watching someone fall just makes me laugh the most (after I see they're still alive and okay). If I go back and think on someone falling or tripping, I will laugh as though it was my very first time seeing it again.

I'm Tiffani Garrett. One thing I would say that always makes me laugh is watching old baby videos or old pictures of myself. Just to see how much I've grown and how much of a goofy person I am. Rewinding and watching memories or me as a little girl always seems to create a face full of smiles and giggles.

ReplyDeleteGood evening, my name is Aleyah Hampton. I'm a freshman at NC A&T. Something that makes me laugh every time is when someone falls. I know its a bad habit, but when it happens I just always laugh. Another thing that always makes me laugh is when my friends make funny jokes. Comedian Kevin Hart definitely triggers my laughs too.
Kevin Hart is really funny. I've always wondered why it makes us giggle when someone else falls. Not everyone finds that funny, but it is common. Maybe because people always seem so in control that it seems funny to see them lose it for a few seconds?

Thinking back, there are plenty of moments that make me laugh hysterically, but one specific experience will always lighten my day. It was a terrible snow storm here at the T and I decided to go outside while there was still ice on the ground. As I walked down maybe two steps, I slipped and instantly grabbed on to the railing as if my life were seriously in danger. I was scared out of mind, and embarrassed because people were around. However, the thought of my face, my scream, and my belongings flying will always make me laugh as I pass that flight of stairs on campus.

When I'm having a good day, bad day, or a boring day, I know I can always turn on Family Guy for a cheap laugh. Though I've seen all of the episodes, it's amazing how I can still laugh as if some of the jokes are brand new to me sometimes.

I have always been a goofy person, i laugh at mainly anything which is crazy, but that is what keeps me happy and it makes me a fun person to be around. On a daily basis, my friends keep me smiling and laughing to the point where my face hurts. Whenever we are together, it is hard to have a serious moment. Our inside jokes and random recollections of memories keep us smiling often and I am thankful for that.
