More Trump-ness

The presidential primary elections are in full affect, and it seems like you can’t have a conversation about this up-coming election without mentioning one man: Donald Trump. Well to no one’s surprise, he’s in the news again for this time. Not for his comments on “temporarily” banning Muslims; not for mocking a reporter with a disability; or not for his numerous outlandish remarks about women; but this time Mr. Trump is in the news for having the support of the Klu Klux Klan.
Yes, to no one’s surprise Donald Trump has managed to gain the support of the former Grand Wizard (Leader of KKK) David Duke encouraged members to vote support Trump as Duke was quoted as saying “Voting against Donald Trump at this point is really treason to your heritage.”
When asked about this, Trump denied knowing anything of the KKK or white supremacy at all saying that, “Well I have to look at the group. I don’t know what group you’re talking about.”
Really Trump? You mean to tell me to that you don’t know who the KKK is? One of America’s most infamous terrorist groups, and I emphasize the word terrorist for a reason. This same group is responsible for over 3000 deaths, and those are only the documented deaths. But fine, let’s just pretend that for whoever is living in a fantasy world that Trump has never heard of this group before, there’s still one problem. Just one day before this interview a protester stood up at Trump rally with a shirt that said “KKK Supports Trump.” And you can tell by Trump’s discomfort that he is at least some what familiar with the Klan, as he goes as far as stopping mid sentence to allow the police to take the protestor away. He the goes on to say “In the good old days [Law Enforcement] would’ve ripped him out of that seat so fast. But today everybody is politically correct, our country is going to hell with being politically correct.” Yes, he actually said that. There is a link below proving it.
I know most people my age, including myself, aren’t interested in politics despite our parents constant nagging about how old we are old enough to vote and how we should start paying more attention. To be honest, most times for us, it goes in through one ear and goes out of the other. But seeing and hearing things about Donald Trump really scares me. I mean, this man seems to have a really good shot at being president. Do we really want a man like this being president for us? Every time I turn on the news, there seems to be yet another crazy thing that Trump has done to what me seems to be embarrassing, but to others seems as another reason to support him.
If this blog does nothing else, I hope that it encourages you to vote. I hate to be this blunt, but quite frankly I hope it encourages you to vote for anyone who opposes Trump, whether it be Democrat, Libertarian, or even the Green party, just get out there and vote.

·            How do you guys feel about Trump?

·            Do you think you’ll vote this election?

  1. I agree with what you are saying. Most people our age the information does go through one ear and out the other. However, listening and watching all of what Trump has been doing/saying, I can absolutely say that I dislike him. I think he is taking this election as a joke. I say this because he has been saying some "reckless" things that you wouldn't think would come out of someone's mouth. And he also has not done anything prior to becoming president. I also feel that he is running because he has the money to do it. Even though he is ahead for the Republicans, I hope he do not become the president!

  2. Wow. Firstly, Donald Trump damn well knows what KKK is, and I find it extremely offensive that he would say such a thing. It shows how much concern he has for the black community. Honestly, I feel that this is just to avenge for having a black president.

  3. I agree that most people our age aren't as worried about politics are older people are. It is very important that we actually get out and vote. When a man like Trump is running for president of our country, politics at this time should be important to all of those who are of age to vote. If we can bash Trump on twitter and all the other social media sites, we should go out and take action to vote to make sure that this man does not get elected to be the president of the country.

  6. I did not vote physically, but in spirit, I am not voting for Donald Trump. Anyone who agrees with his views must really be a racist and not want to good for everyone. If we are being honest, Trump is going to turn American into hell; more than it already is. It might be like a slavery pt.2, just more modern.

  7. If you think you're broke and going through it now, wait until Trump is in office.

    1. I 100 percent agree with you. If Trump becomes president I feel like the world will back to segregation. Also all immigrants will be sent back to where they came from and will not be allowed back in the USA.

  8. I personally do not like Donald Trump and I do not support anything he stands for. I will miss President Obama, I am proud to have him in office. I will not be voting this year because I personally don't like any candidates that's running in this election. I will not be proud to have them in office. I believe who ever wins will have big shoes to fill.

  9. Every since I was seventeen my mother has been saying how soon enough it will be my time to vote! This year I turned 19. Now it's my time and I'll be damned if I don't carry out my duty as a citizen and vote against Donald Trump. If he becomes president, it s going to be just like it was when we were younger constantly hearing things about "Bush". But even more extreme!

  12. If Donald Trump was not running for president, I would not vote. Personally, none of the candidates appeal to me. If it was up to me, I would convince everyone wishing the United States and their territories not to vote. However, when it comes to how I feel about Donald Trump, I don't feel. I cannot feel against an insensitive racist and someone who does not have the consideration of women's rights in his mind. With that being said, Donald Trump must be respected as a business man. From a young age he has made his name a household name and has entertained many with his show, "The Apprentice". Donald Trump has no political experience and is not qualified to run this "free" country.
