Legendary Status (Mamba Day)

Kobe Bryant will forever be remembered as a Hall of Fame legend in the National Association of Basketball (NBA). On April 13, 2016, the "Black Mamba" scored a total of 60 points to leave an exclamation point on his last NBA game against the Utah Jazz. Nike officially labeled April 13 as "Mamba Day." Kobe Bryant is currently the third all-time leading scorer at 33,643 behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and the "Ice Man," Karl Malone. Bryant has been my favorite NBA player since my childhood days even when they use to call him a "ball-hog." Now that he has left the league I know I am getting older because he has been around since I was born. What are your opinions?

  1. Kobe is the 3rd Greatest player of All-time and that was that was honestly the best game of the season. Even though i'm not the biggest Kobe fan i have to give him respect for dropping 60.

  2. Kobe is definitely on my list of the top 5 all time greats in NBA history at the shooting guard position. I couldn't imagine being drafted to the NBA at age 17. To be that young on a stage that big, it would have been hard for most teens to keep a level head. I think that says a lot about him as a person.

  3. Think about it, we barely wake up to go to our 9:30am classes. But Kobe, at an age the same age, was traveling cross county to play with the best basketball players in the world. Though I don't know much about basketball, I still know that Kobe changed the game forever through his spectacular play and his dedication to the Lakers. In my opinion, the least the NBA could do for Kobe is to give him his own day.

  4. I don't think he should receive his own day. I respect Kobe as a player and there's no doubt that his talent is truly one of a kind but I don't like his personality. He has bad sportsmanship, he's too cocky, and he's a cheater. Soooo yeah, he doesn't need a day.
