Kehlani Parrish, better known as Kehlani, is an American R&B singer-songwriter. Recently, she has been dating the NBA star, Kyrie Irving. However, Kehlani has been ‘exposed’ on social media by her ex, Partynextdoor, through a photograph of her in bed with him. Partynextdoor captioned the post “After all her shenanigans, still got the R&B singer back in my bed.” As soon as the world saw this, Kehlani’s name was ran through the dirt as she was scrutinized for cheating on a star basketball player. As a result, she deactivated her Instagram and Twitter, as she most definitely felt embarrassed and hurt by all of the remarks. Kehlani was hospitalized on March 28,2016 after attempting to commit suicide over this situation. She later reactivated her Instagram and posted a picture of her arm with an IV in it, captioned “Today I wanted to leave this earth.” She had no desire to see tomorrow, but she stated that God kept her for a reason, and for that she is grateful. Following that post was another of Partynextdoor, which had a comment thanking him because he saved her life. Many wonder how he could have saved her life if his post led to her being in the hospital, but again, after this, she deleted her account once more, along with all posts.
Kyrie Irving has yet to respond to the craziness, until yesterday. He claimed that Kehlani did not cheat on him with the musician Partynextdoor because they were no longer together. It was all a misinterpretation. Although Kehlani told the press she was still romantically involved with Kyrie in January, and she also posted a Valentine’s day post with him, while he posted a picture of them as a happy couple two weeks prior to this incident, she is sticking to her story that she and Kyrie were broken up when she got back with Partynextdoor.
On a side note, Chris Brown had an opinion on the issue because Kyrie is a close friend of his. He stated that Kehlani is doing it all for attention. However, Kehlani says it is not for attention. She is following her heart by being with the man she loves, Partynextdoor, but the rumors and blogs led her to want to breathe her last breath.
Do you guys believe the story that Kehlani did not cheat? Or do you think Kyrie is trying to save his image as a star basketball player and help Kehlani keep her good name by going along with it? At the end of the day, Kehlani is a 20 year old woman who will go through relationship issues, but due to the fact that she is a celebrity, her life is always going to be there for the public to read about and comment on. Is the world being too hard on her?
I wouldn't put anything pass anyone. Anyone is capable of anything. Though Kehlani posted those Valentine's Day pictures a lot can happen in a matter of a few days. Plus we (the public) didn't until this week. These people are celebrities and these sort of things come with the territory.Last thought, I don't appreciate how people hit Kehlani with a total 180 degree turn. How they calling her a hoe, thot etc. but then hear the news of her attempted suicide and come to her support. I mean what do people want? Do they want want retweets or what?
ReplyDeleteI believe she shouldn't have gotten right to her ex boyfriends' bed right after a break up. She should've known it would bring so much media attention. Like why would you want to commit suicide over RUMORS if it isn't true? Hope she learned her lesson.
ReplyDeleteNobody's perfect and people cheat everyday but like you said she's a celebrity, but as a celebrity you should know people are going to find things out. It was wrong on her part to cheat but it was also wrong from him to put the picture on social media. Everything will come to light eventually but you live and you learn.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked when I saw the post about her wanting to commit suicide. Social media has a huge impact on people today and the fact that she would want t take her own life because of comments is kinda scary. I want people to realize that the things they say can have a major impact on someone. Kehlani is human and she is probably not the first to do something like this. The only reason she got so much negativity is because she is a celebrity .
ReplyDeleteI think the world was being hard on her but at the same time this is a huge example of celebrities not being able to handle social media. This could've all been avoided if he didn't post it and she made it way harder on herself when she post the suicide pick. If anything it's PND's fault.
ReplyDeletei agree with Isaiah. celebrities including chris brown, do not know how to handle social media. for somebody who has had so many relationship issues, Chris brown had way too much to say and should have minded his business.if he isnt the pot calling the kettle black, hen i dont know what is. it is very possible that kyrie was trying to smooth the situation out when he made his one and only tweet. PND and kehlani had to have been communicating at the least while kyrie and kehlani were together. either way it goes they were bold enough to publicize their relations in such short time of kehlanis last relationship, so they should have been prepared for the attention it was going to get.
